Saturday 22nd November Middlesbrough v Bolton Middlesbrough and Bolton meet for the first time this season on Saturday in a fixture that has had a lot of dull games over the past few seasons but with two high scoring games thrown into it.
Middlesbrough are unbeaten in five games following three 1-1 draws and two impressive victories; over Manchester City and at Aston Villa. Gareth Southgate’s team are playing well with Tuncay being a big focus in attack and Ross Turnbull putting some good performances in between the sticks. They have only kept one clean sheet in their last six games, but have a good opportunity to improve on that with Bolton being one of the lowest scoring away teams in the league. Defender Chris Riggott is picked up a hamstring injury last weekend, so David Wheater could replace him if not fit. Mido has been struggling with a hamstring injury of late but could return this weekend, as well as Jeremie Aliadiere who missed last weekends game through illness.
Bolton picked up a valuable six points from two games before losing to Liverpool last weekend. They are sitting in 13th position going into this weekends fixtures, although only one point out of the relegation zone. Their boring style of football and weakness in attack as lead to just eleven goals this season; only West Brom have scored fewer.
Bolton won this fixture 1-0 last season whilst drawing 0-0 at the Reebok Stadium. With neither team scoring a significant amount of goals in recent weeks and both defences looking decent, this has the making of another full affair between these two.
Middlesbrough to win 10/11
Draw 5/2
Bolton to win 7/2
Under 2.5 goals 7/10
