Manchester United will be looking to continue their push for a top four finish when they host Manchester City at Old Trafford on Sunday.
The Red Devils were 2-1 winners at the Etihad Stadium back in December but were eliminated by their rivals from the EFL Cup in January.
Pep Guardiola’s side head into this game unsure whether Kevin De Bruyne will be fit to face United whilst their defence continues to look leaky.
Manchester United have been in excellent form since signing Bruno Fernandes at the end of January which continued with a comfortable 3-0 win over Wayne Rooney’s Derby County in the FA Cup on Thursday. They have kept seven clean sheets in their last nine games in all competition with Eric Bailly yet to concede in any of his three starts.
I can see this being a game where Manchester City dominate possession and territory against an organised defence that sees the likes of Bruno Fernandes, Anthony Martial and Odion Ighalo causing problems on the counter-attack. Nicolas Otamendi, John Stones, Fernandinho – I am not convinced any pairing of these three will be able to keep a clean sheet.
Therefore I think there’s great value in laying Manchester City this weekend. I am very surprised their odds aren’t closer to evens.
