Sheffield United could finish the weekend as high as 5th in the Premier League. The Blades head to Selhurst Park at 3pm on Saturday only one point behind Manchester United in fifth; who are on the same number of points as Tottenham Hotspur and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
With Wolves capable of getting a result in the 17:30 Saturday evening game at Old Trafford and Spurs with a tough one at home to Manchester City on Sunday, three points for Chris Wilder’s side could leave them in the European places.
Hosts Crystal Palace are winless in their last five Premier League matches, including a 2-0 loss at home to Southampton last time out. They have also been beaten at home by Derby County in the FA Cup during this run.
Sheffield United have been excellent on the road this season, although they have had some of their toughest away trips of late – away to Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal. They took a point from the latter having previously gone unbeaten in their first nine away games this season.
The newly-promoted side were 1-0 winners when these two met at Bramall Lane back in August, a game in which the visitors caused very few problems to Dean Henderson between the sticks.
This weekend’s hosts have only got better since, notably with striker Lys Mousset finding the back of the net on five occasions and John Fleck being in some goalscoring form of late.
With Crystal Palace’s poor form and Sheffield United’s great tactics I think there’s great value in an away victory this weekend.
