The most-anticipated match in the Premier League this weekend is when Manchester City play host to Chelsea in Saturday’s evening kick off.
Both sides have looked excellent going forward this season, both need to win if they’re to keep their feint chances of winning the 2019-20 Premier League title alive, and neither defence looks very solid currently.
We should be in for a goal fest between these two at the Etihad Stadium.
I am going along with the bookmakers in expecting Manchester City to win, though they don’t offer great value, currently with odds of just 1.48 to take all three points.
Frank Lampard and Jody Morris are yet to build a solid defence in their managerial partnership – both at Derby County and Chelsea. In fact, both defences they have constructed over the short period of time at both clubs, have been very open.
That should play nicely into the hands of Manchester City’s attack, with the likes of Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling, Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva up front.
However, Pep Guardiola’s side have also been leaky at the back following the injury to Aymeric Laporte. Fernandinho seems to the be the manager’s preferred partner to John Stones in the middle of their back four, though Nicolas Otamendi has recently returned from injury.
Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham has been excellent on the road this season but not always proven himself against the top sides. It will be interesting to see how the England international fares on Saturday given their weak defence.
I think we’re in for a thriller this weekend and that the value is backing goals in this match.
Best bet: Both Teams to Score is 8/15 with Bet365
