Manchester United host Liverpool in the first meeting of the season between the two English football giants.
For a very rare occasion, the visitors to Old Trafford this weekend are odds on favourites with the bookmakers and I have to agree with them.
Liverpool head into the weekend with a 100% win record in the Premier League though it did take a stoppage time penalty at home to beat Leicester City in their final game before the international break.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have only won each of their last three games by the single goal – but Chelsea and Leicester are currently competing for places in the top four.
Manchester United have won just won of their last seven Premier League games since their season opener and haven’t scored more than a single goal in any of their games in all competitions since that opener.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a number of injuries to deal with but the international break may have work in the United boss’ favour. They’d be in real trouble should the likes of Ashley Young, Nemanja Matic and Juan Mata be starting in this match.
I can see Liverpool’s front three taking United’s defence apart. Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah have been great this season, whilst Sadio Mane is always a constant threat down the left. United have been beaten at home by Crystal Palace this season and Liverpool have a lot more to offer than the Southeast London club.
I’m going with the bookies on this one and backing Liverpool all the way on Sunday.
Best bet: Liverpool to win is 1.75 with Betfair
