Wolverhampton Wanderers travel to the Emirates Stadium on Saturday hoping to inflict more pain on Arsenal.
The Gunners were eliminated by Liverpool’s youth in a penalty shootout after a thrilling 5-5 draw in the EFL Cup midweek, whilst club captain Granit Xhaka only apologised on Thursday for his behaviour during Sunday’s 2-2 draw at home to Crystal Palace.
Unai Emery’s side were booed off after throwing away a 2-0 lead.
Wolverhampton Wanderers head to North London unbeaten in their last five Premier League matches, which includes their 2-0 win at Manchester City and three 1-1 draws. After a slow start, Nuno has his side on a roll currently.
I am a little surprised to see Arsenal as the odds on favourites in this match, given their inconsistencies on the field (two wins in their last eight Premier League outings) and the trouble surrounding their captain. Mesut Ozil starting midweek seemed like a desperate ploy by Emery given the fans are now on his back. The German had previously been frozen out by the manager.
Wolves have won at the Etihad recently and were unlucky not to win at the Emirates last season. As they are well set up tactically and have much the better momentum going into the match, I see great value in laying Arsenal.
Best bet: Lay Arsenal at 1.81 with Betfair
