Manchester United host Barcelona in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final clash.
The Premier League side dramatically progressed past Paris Saint-Germain in the previous round thanks to Marcus Rashford’s stoppage time penalty to seal a 3-1 win the French capital.
Barcelona are running away with the Spanish La Liga title following their 2-0 win over Atletico Madrid over the weekend and Ernesto Valverde must have his eyes set on Europe’s biggest club cup competition now.
United haven’t impressed since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer signed a permanent contract at Old Trafford last month and I fully expect the likes of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Philippe Coutinho to get the better of their defence.
Suarez has not scored in six Champions League games this season but don’t be surprised to see the former Liverpool man to score on Wednesday night. Lionel Messi up against the likes of Chris Smalling doesn’t bode well for the hosts either.
Barcelona’s defence itself isn’t watertight and I wouldn’t be surprised to see the hosts get on the scoresheet, though Solskjaer does have a number of injuries running through his squad, including Marcus Rashford and Alexis Sanchez.
I expect the Spanish side to outscore Manchester United in the first leg.
