Norwich City will be looking to maintain or even extend their lead at the top of the Championship when they travel to Middlesbrough on Saturday.
Daniel Farke’s side are in a close battle with Sheffield United and Leeds United in order to return to the Premier League but currently lead the second tier.
Middlesbrough looked set for a playoff spot just a few weeks ago but three successive defeats means they could be outside of the top six before they kick off the Championship’s evening game this weekend.
Tony Pulis’ side were beaten 1-0 at Carrow Road earlier in the season even before the Canaries found their form that has led them to the top of the table. The fortune of both clubs has since gone in an opposite direction and I am confident Norwich can do the double over Middlesbrough this season.
Top scorer Teemu Pukki is coming back from action with Finland over the international break but there’s a lot of energy in this Norwich side, as shown by all of their late goals this season. Emiliano Buendía, Marco Stiepermann, Onel Hernandez and Kenny McLean are all capable of scoring, whilst being supported by the two pacey full-backs in attack.
Middlesbrough are out of form and haven’t shown much of a goal threat all season. In fact, they are the fifth lowest scorers in the division. However, Pulis’ sides always boast a good defence so they won’t make life easy for the East Anglian club. However, with a great price, I think Norwich are worth backing this weekend.
