Tottenham vs Liverpool prediction

The Premier League returns from the international break with a huge matchup on Saturday lunchtime as Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool take on Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley Stadium.

Spurs’ 100% start to the season was ended before the break when they let slip of a 1-0 lead to lose 2-1 at Watford, who themselves made it four wins from four in the process.  Liverpool have the same record as the Hornets and have looked impressive to start the campaign.

Although the scoreline was only 2-1 at Leicester City last time out, the hosts are expected to finish in the top eight this season and never came close to finding an equaliser after Alisson gifted Leicester a goal – the first conceded by the Brazilian since joining over the summer.

Both teams were involved in a 2-1 scoreline before the international break and I expect both teams to be on the scoresheet again this weekend in what promises to be an exciting game. Although it’s odds on for both teams to score, if you sign up for a new sportsbook account, such as Sbobet, you can get bonus bets to boost your earnings.

I’ve not been overly sold on Tottenham to start the new season and they could be without both Hugo Lloris and Dele Alli for this one.  Lloris will certainly be a big miss as Michel Vorm looked poor from set pieces and crosses in conceding two goals at Watford last time out.  Alli hasn’t made much of an impression since the end of last season, including at the 2018 World Cup, but has been a key player in Mauricio Pochettino since joining from MK Dons.

However, Lucas Moura has been excellent and I can see him causing the Liverpool defence real problems. The August Premier League Player of the Month offers a great threat through his pace and dribbling ability, playing alongside Harry Kane and drifting out on the right before running at Andy Robertson and Virgil van Dijk should make for a great battle.  Spurs also have goals in them through Kane and Christian Eriksen and are threats from dead ball situations too.

You can certainly expect Liverpool to score in this one with the start Sadio Mane has made to the season, alongside Roberto Firmino and last season’s Golden Boot winner, Mohamed Salah.

We can be sure to be in for an excellent game at Wembley on Saturday. I don’t see Liverpool losing this one and I certainly expect lots of goals.

Best bet: Both teams to score is 1.62 with Betfair
Value bet: Over 3.5 goals is 2.90 with Betfair
