Championship leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers travel to out-of-form Leeds United on Wednesday night.
Nuno’s side only hold a three-point lead over Cardiff City now with this being their game in hand. In their last three games they have been held 1-1 at Preston North End, pegged back to 2-2 by Norwich City and beaten 2-0 at Fulham.
Those are three teams you can see competing for playoff spots though whilst Leeds United have gone backwards under Paul Heckingbottom and are 12th – eight points off the playoffs.
I fully expect to see Wolves bounce back from their recent disappointments with three points at Elland Road on Wednesday. Leeds looked woeful in defence in their last two televised games – drawing 2-2 with out-of-form Derby County and being thrashed 3-0 by Middlesbrough at the start of the month.
Wolves have some of the best attacking talent in the division and boast the joint-best defensive record too. Whilst Leeds to have some good attacking players I simply believe they’ll be outscored by the West Midlands club who have a lot to offer going forward.
I am a little surprised the visitors aren’t odds-on but I guess failing to win any of their last three games, albeit versus tough opposition, has had a say in that. Therefore I believe there’s very good value in a Wolves win in this one.
