Aston Villa host rivals Birmingham City in the Second-city derby on Sunday lunchtime.
Steve Bruce’s side are chasing down Derby County in second place who have a tough tie at home to Norwich City on Saturday, with the Villans on a six-game winning streak.
The hosts don’t have any key absentees with John Terry recently returning at the back and Mile Jedinak in front of the back four capable of shutting out their struggling rivals on Sunday.
Going forward Villa have a whole host of talent with the likes of Robert Snodgrass, Albert Adomah and Scott Hogan all capable of scoring on Sunday.
Birmingham City are actually unbeaten in their last three Championship matches but these have been against 10 man Sheffield Wednesday, struggling Sunderland and a draw with Preston North End, since being hammered 3-0 at home by Derby County. The Blues were also hammered 4-1 at home by Huddersfield Town after extra time in their FA Cup replay game midweek – meaning the visitors have had less time to recover and prepare for this weekend’s game.
Aston Villa have won six in a row and despite conceding two at home to Burton Albion last weekend their defence is playing well. I cannot see anything but a home win in this derby.
