Crystal Palace have yet to pick up a single point or even score a goal in their opening seven matches of the 2017-18 Premier League season.
The Eagles have already switched manager by replacing Frank de Boer with Roy Hodgson, whilst Chelsea are looking to keep within touching distance of joint leaders Manchester City and Manchester United this weekend.
Antonio Conte’s side are without Alvaro Morata for a month through injury and his backup Michy Batshuayi hasn’t looked all that impressive when leading the line. The Belgian does head to Crystal Palace with some game time behind him of late having played in the Champions League recently, and for his country this past week.
Eden Hazard must be close to full match fitness now too whilst Chelsea also have a goalscorer in Pedro in their attack.
Crystal Palace have looked poor defending and have been impotent in attack. I don’t see much changing with Roy Hodgson coming in either. He’s seen his side thrashed 5-0 by Manchester City and 4-0 by Manchester United already.
The Eagles could have Wilfried Zaha back to offer threat going forward but Christian Benteke is injured so they don’t have much in the way of a striker. Ruben Loftus-Cheek has looked lively going forward but is ineligible to face his parent club this weekend.
It looks like being another tough fixture for Crystal Palace this weekend and I don’t see them taking anything from this game.
