Manchester United host pointless Crystal Palace in a 3pm kick-off at Old Trafford on Saturday.
The Red Devils have a short turnaround following their trip to CSKA Moscow in the Champions League on Wednesday night where they were emphatic 4-1 winners.
Jose Mourinho does have a growing injury list which now consists of Paul Pogba, Phil Jones, Anthony Martial, Michael Carrick, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo. It’s not yet been confirmed whether Antonio Valencia and Marouane Fellaini will be fit to return this week either after not featuring in Russia midweek.
However, United have won five of their six Premier League matches, keeping a clean sheet in all five of those wins, and scoring exactly four goals in three of those fixtures. They have been ruthless and Crystal Palace have to fear the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Marcus Rashford and Henrikh Mkhitaryan this weekend.
Not only do Roy Hodgson’s sit bottom of the Premier League with 0 points but they haven’t even scored a single goal in their opening six matches. Their upcoming fixture list doesn’t look too promising either.
The Eagles will also be without star defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah for the trip to Old Trafford as part of the loan agreement between the two clubs. The news only gets worse for the Southeast London club as striker Christian Benteke has joined the injury list and they don’t have much in the way of backup.
Wilfried Zaha has already been ruled out of this match with an injury picked up in the season opening 3-0 thrashing at the hands of Huddersfield Town. Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who has looked lively in recent weeks, is also injured.
I can’t see anything but Manchester United thrashing Crystal Palace in this one.
