Mick McCarthy 4/7 Next Manager to Leave Post
Mick McCarthy has become the odds-on favourite to be the next Premier League manager to leave his post following Wolves’ 5-1 home thrashing at the hands of West Brom today.
SkyBet have made the former Republic of Ireland manager 4/7 favourite.
Harry Redknapp is the bookmakers’ second favourite at 6/1 to be the next manager to leave his post, with the Tottenham boss currently odds-on favourite to become the next permanent England manager.
Both Andre Villas-Boas and Alex McLeish are 8/1 to leave their post next. The Chelsea boss saw his side beaten 2-0 at Everton on Saturday, slipping to fifth position and 17 points behind league leaders Manchester City. Meanwhile the Aston Villa manager has guided his team into 15th position after 25 games in charge; 7 home games without a win dating back to 5 November when they beat Norwich City 3-2 at Villa Park.
Sunday’s crushing defeat at home to arch-enemies West Brom saw Wolves slip into the relegation zone on goal difference. Mick McCarthy’s side have won 1 of their last 11 in the league, that coming against 10 man Queens Park Rangers.
McCarthy took charge of Wolves in July 2006 and today was his 100th defeat in all competitions.
