Manchester City 7/2 Favourites to Win Europa League

Manchester City are the bookmakers’ 7/2 favourites to win this season’s Europa League.

The Premier League leaders came-from-behind to win 2-1 in Porto this evening thanks to Sergio Aguero’s late winner. The Portuguese champions lead at half time thanks to Silvestre Varela’s close range strike.

An own goal from Alvaro Pereira levelled the score 10 minutes into the second half before Aguero tapped in from close range following a burst into the box from the returning Yaya Toure.

Local neighbours Manchester United are the bookmakers’ 4/1 second favourites, followed by Valencia at 10/1. Both sides also won their first legs away from home this evening.

Manchester City’s only previous European success came when they lifted the Cup Winners’ Cup in 1970. The Citizens next game will be the return leg on Wednesday.
